A new or lapsed member who wishes to join must find a current financial member of the club to nominate them and endorse their application for consideration by the Committee (instructions provided in the VARMS Membership Website).
Your membership is considered lapsed if you didn’t renew in July 2023. If that is the case then you will have to apply as a NEW member again.
New Membership Applicants are also required to introduce themselves to a member of the VARMS Committee at some time before the monthly Committee Meeting. The Committee will then be able to consider the application. You may know some of the Committee members already. You can find the dates of Committee Meetings in the VARMS Events Calendar (click for Events page). If you are not known by any Committee members then you will need to introduce yourself to one who intends to be at the next Committee Meeting.
To join as a new member or renew a lapsed membership click the link below to be taken to the VARMS Membership website and begin the online ‘Membership Application Process’.
In the VARMS Membership Website you can choose a payment option of either online credit card or offline bank deposit.
If for some reason you can’t complete the application process through the VARMS Membership Website online then there is the option to apply via a paper based process. You can request this from the Secretary (click for Contacts page).
Your Membership Application will be presented to the VARMS Committee at their monthly meeting for approval. If approved you will be asked to pay the Membership Fees soon after. Once you are approved and payment is verified your membership with VARMS will be valid and current. You will then be covered by the MAAA provided insurance.
When you become a member you will be required to attend an Induction Session (click for the Events page) where you will receive our club rules book, site maps, your member card and some other goodies.
Your membership with VARMS will initially be a two-year probationary membership. The VARMS Membership Registrar will submit your details to VMAA (Victorian Model Aeronautical Association) and MAAA (Model Aircraft Association of Australia) and create or update your club affiliation. This means you will be registered with both the VMAA and MAAA and have insurance cover at any MAAA club within Australia.
